SEO London offers students in-depth training, high quality mentoring and summer vacation placements with the leading corporate law firms in the City of London. The ultimate goal is for this experience to lead to a training contract – in the past eight years more than 80% of SEO summer experience students have been offered full-time graduate roles with partner firms, and in excess of 40% have received multiple job offers.
Through its unique Networking series, SEO London will provide every student with access to senior partners at all sponsors of the programme, including Magic Circle, Top 20 UK and US law firms (full details below).
Students participating in the programme will also have the opportunity to complete multiple vacation placements with different sponsor firms throughout Summer 2009.
Every student participating in the programme will receive in excess of sixty hours of individually tailored pre-summer training to ensure they outperform their peers and maximise their chances of success. In addition, every participant will also be allocated a senior industry mentor to help guide them through their summer experience. Historically, as a result of this exposure and support, more than 80% of the students that have interned through SEO London have gone on to secure full time graduate positions with sponsor firms.
In 2008 45 students received training and exposure through the SEO London Corporate Law programme and for Summer 2009 more than 80 corporate law vacation placements will be available.
The programme is open to penultimate year and final year undergraduates from ethnic minority groups currently under-represented in the City, specifically from Black or Asian backgrounds.

Joining SEO London has been a wonderful experience. I applied for the Corporate Law programme because I wanted to get more insight into the field. The programme has been so much more than I imagined it would be. It gets you real exposure, through training and networking events. It has also been very inspiring to be in the company of so many driven young people. I’ve been very touched by all the help and support received through the SEO programme. It really helps to have experienced individuals offering advice especially as I only joined in the final year of my LLB studies.
